July 2021 USMALtd Continuing Covid-19 Protocols

Despite Maryland Governor Hogan and Baltimore County ending the Covid-19 Mask and other Covid-19 restrictions for businesses on May 15th, US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd is continuing to require that all students, audience members and staff wear masks as well as following social distancing, pre-scheduling classes, limiting class size and other previously described Covid-19 protocols.

Almost half of our Kung Fu students are under the age of 12, so they are not even eligible to be vaccinated and therefore will continue to be vulnerable to contracting the COVID-19 virus. We do not want to put these young people at risk of getting sick, not to mention seriously ill or worse.

While we are as eager as anyone else to return to “normal”, we are committed to providing an environment that is as safe as humanly possible for our students and staff to train and learn Kung Fu. We are continually following the developments to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and we’ll adjust our safety procedures as we feel it is safe and prudent to do so. We will keep everyone updated as things change.

Classes

Changes to the Wednesday Kung Fu class schedule!

US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd is adding a second Family Kung Fu class and moving the Kung Fu Kids class on Wednesday.

The Kung Fu Kids class will move from 4:30pm to 3:30pm. It will end at 4:10pm. This will allow time for the additional Family Kung Fu class from 4:30pm to 5:15pm. The Family Kung Fu class at 6:30pm to 7:15pm will remain as scheduled.

These changes will provide a second class time for the Family Kung Fu students which is needed as people become more comfortable returning to class.

USMALtd is Re-opening, but with Class Size and Other Restrictions for Our Martial Arts Programs

We are allowed to reopen for our Friday evening for the 5:30pm and 6:30pm classes on June 19th with REDUCED CLASS SIZE and other Covid-19 restrictions. STUDENTS MUST PRE-SCHEDULE THE IN-SCHOOL CLASSES to be admitted to class. Please see Shi Fu Paul’s 6/14 emails for further information. We can’t wait to see you!

There will be temporary changes to our classroom activities to reduce personal contact and reduce the risk of spreading the virus. Additional time between classes has been added to allow for cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and facilities. We are limiting class size, increasing the spacing between students, and assigning equipment to each student.

US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd will suspend any class activity requiring physical contact with another student, such as Chin Nas, two-man forms and partner drills. Once the risk of spreading the virus has been mitigated, we will resume our normal classroom activities and techniques.

Students must pre-register for their classes to limit class sizes. To reduce the total numbers of people in the building, please limit the number of family members in the audience area, or if possible, please wait for your student in your car. Students should enter from the back door and leave from the front door.
