US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd's Kung Fu Kids program is designed for children ages 4 to 7 years of age. It is designed to teach self-defense, improve a child's coordination, concentration, self-control, and respect for self and others.
Students in the Kung Fu Kids program learn Tien Shan Pai Kung Fu using activity oriented drills and games appropriate for their age level. These games and drills are designed to reinforce good listening skills, improve motor skills, and develop self-discipline.
At US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd., there is NO sparring with other Kung Fu Kids
Our Kung Fu Kids do not spar each other. We believe that most younger students in the 4 - 7 year old range do not have the maturity or control to safely engage in sparring. In our school, older students in the Family and Adult Kung Fu programs who have been training for about 6 months or more will begin structured sparring exercises. Even then, no hits are allowed to the head, back, knees or elbows. These older students wear protective gear, not because the contact is powerful, but as an extra safety precaution.
US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd. Kung Fu Kids classes have great teacher to student ratios.
We typically schedule between four and eight instructors for our Kung Fu Kid classes so that our student to teacher ratio allows for a significant amount of personal instruction. In most other schools, classes have only one instructor.
US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd. Kung Fu Kids Belt Progression
Students begin at White Belt and then can progress from Camouflage White to Camouflage Black. This program prepares children for the regular Tien Shan Pai Kung Fu program. We do not charge students for belts, sashes or tests.
US Martial Arts Academy, Ltd. Attendance Flexibility
Once the introductory classes are completed, our Kung Fu Kids program is flexible. A regular student may come on Monday, Thursday one week (for example) and entirely different days the next week, as long as the classes are Kung Fu Kid classes. These classes are available Monday thru Saturday.
