It is with great sadness that we announce that Ms. Maricar’s father, Julio Esteban, Jr., passed away peacefully this past Saturday, June 8th. He was one month shy of his 94th birthday. “Mr. Julio” as he was known in our school, was born in the Spanish community in the Philippines in 1930. He survived the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during World War II and later moved his family to the United States. He lived to see many, amazing events in his life and was blessed to see the birth of seven great-grandchildren. He had studied Tai Chi with Mr. Jeff for almost 14 years and was the oldest student in our school.
In order for us to attend the various services, U.S. Martial Arts Academy, Ltd. will be closed on Wednesday, June 12th and Thursday, June 13th. We will be open on our regular schedule the rest of this week. For those who may wish to, the family will receive friends at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home. Inc. 1050 York Road (Beltway Exit 26) on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 200 Ware Avenue, Towson, MD on Thursday, 1:00pm. Entombment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
